Tom is a founding member of Praesta Ireland. His clients have included executives in manufacturing, finance, accounting, law, government, education, health, not for profit, state agencies, public utilities, professional bodies and the arts.

A specialist in corporate governance and business ethics Tom has lectured extensively on the topics. He has advised boards and directed governance and board reviews in public and private companies, hospitals, state sector and not for profit organisations.  He is or has been chairman or a member of many audit committees in Government departments, state bodies and universities, including the HSE and the Courts Service.

A senior audit partner at PWC from 1970 to 2000, and a past President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Tom has a wealth of experience as an auditor and advisor to international and domestic businesses and to private, public and non government companies and organisations.

Tom’s interest in coaching, mentoring and leadership training grew from his years of senior management, as National HR Partner and as head of executive selection at PwC. From these roles he gained exceptional expertise as recruiter, mentor and coach to professionals within the firm and to clients.

Tom was involved, from 1998 to 2014, as chairman and director at Concern Worldwide and its subsidiaries in the UK and USA. From 2003 to 2014 he was chairman and a director of AMK Bank Cambodia, the country’s leading micro finance institution.

From his professional and charitable work and his managerial and board experience, Tom has a keen understanding of the challenges of working internationally and with stakeholders in diverse cultures. He has wide knowledge of working with government departments, international agencies and donors.

His professional qualifications and skills are supported by academic credentials, which include a degree in economics and history, an M.Sc. in Strategic Human Resources Management and Master Coach accreditation. He is a member of the Irish Taxation Institute and of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

Tom is a director of a number of private companies and is a member of the Medical Council.  He was chairman and a director of the Coombe Women & Infants University Hospital and of Older and Bolder, and a director of Tallaght Hospital from 2011 to 2014. He was a commissioner of the Irish Human Rights Commission from 2001 to 2011 and a trustee of the Holocaust Education Trust Ireland from 2005 to 2015.
