Margaret has 40 years of business experience in the commercial semi-state and public sectors. Driven by belief in people’s potential, her coaching approach is pragmatic, empathetic, confidential and solution focussed. She is a great listener and provides a safe and energising environment to help create practical and positive solutions ensuring personal and professional goals are met.
She has had a highly successful 25-year career in Ervia, the parent company for Gas Networks Ireland and Irish Water. As the Strategic HR Director, Margaret initiated and led a strategic talent management framework which included leadership development, succession planning and coaching programmes. Prior to that she worked in several senior HR roles in the Bord Gais Group.
She successfully led and managed several change and transformation programmes including the introduction of a market based, performance led, pay model. Margaret has extensive experience across all HR disciplines including performance management, learning & development, transformation and industrial relations.
Prior to Ervia she worked for Cork City Council for 15 years and held a number of senior financial and management accounting positions.
Margaret is a member of the Board of Governors of the Mercy University Hospital, Company Secretary for Cork Opera House and a member of the audit committees of Cork City Council and the National Shared Services Office (NSSO).
She was also a member of the Policy Committee of the State Claims Agency.
Margaret is a qualified accountant (ACCA) and holds an MBA from UCC and a Certificate in Coaching from Henley College/Reading University.
