Ian is an experienced business leader with a successful record in working closely with individuals and teams to help them achieve their goals. As a coach he works with CEOs, business owners, senior executives and leadership teams across multiple industries and public and private sectors.
Prior to joining Praesta, Ian held a number of senior leadership positions in Accenture most recently Executive Director of Accenture Ireland Board and member of the Accenture Ireland Senior Leadership Team. He brings over 30 years’ experience of working very closely with client teams in planning and delivering large, complex change programmes in Ireland, UK and Europe across multiple industries.
Ian’s deep interest and commitment to coaching come primarily from his experience in working with people in complex change programmes as well as the study of coaching practices. Ian believes that while the formal, structured, technical aspects of change programmes such as methodologies, planning, delivering and measuring are critically important, it is the ability to have genuine personal clarity and conviction along with an authentic communication style that is core to successful delivery.
Ian believes deeply in the power of the coaching relationship and process to help individuals meet their personal and professional objectives, especially in today’s rapidly changing environments. As a coach he brings a structured approach and his practical experience of working with individuals and teams to help develop genuine clarity and conviction in objectives and actions, enhance self-awareness and develop resilience and confidence.
Ian holds a BA in Political Science and Business from Trinity College Dublin and a Diploma in Executive and Leadership Coaching (The Coaching and Mentoring Partnership Dublin).
His interests include art, poetry, long walks and current affairs. He played competitive rugby and GAA for years and these days is a keen follower of his clubs. Having grown up in Lahinch County Clare he still remains a keen golfer and was Captain of Lahinch Golf Club in 2014. Ian lives in Dublin and frequently spends time in County Clare where he enjoys the outdoor life.
